The game was developed using Unity. The input devices were the Oculus Rift and the Myo Armband. Players control a virtual environment containing a table with cups and a ball launcher, using an Oculus Rift and Myo Armband. The goal is to launch the balls into the cups, which will disappear when hit. The Myo Armband tracks the user’s hand gestures and arm motion to aim and fire balls from the launcher.
The game was designed from the ground up and having it work with the hardware was one of the challenging aspects through the development process. Implementing the Myo Armband and having it recognize the user inputs was finicky at first and required manual calibration for optimal feedback. Furthermore having a stable frame rate was essential in order for users to have an immersive experience without the eye strain. Overall, the designing of a virtual reality game was one of the more exciting projects that I had the pleasure of working on and the feedback from the crowd was flattering.
